GPA / Grade Calculator

Weighted GPA, semester averages and what you need on the final.

GPA Calculator works out a weighted grade point average on the 4.0, 5.0 or 10.0 scale from your courses and credit hours, calculates a semester or cumulative average, and answers the question everyone actually has: what score do I need on the final to reach a target grade. Your grades stay in the browser.

Questions about GPA / Grade Calculator

What makes a GPA "weighted"?
Two different things, confusingly. Credit weighting multiplies each course grade by its credit hours — always applied here. Honours weighting adds a bonus point for AP or IB courses, giving a maximum above 4.0; that is optional and school-specific.
How does the final-exam mode work?
It solves for the missing score: given your current average, the weight of the final, and the grade you want, it returns the score required — and tells you plainly when that number is above 100 and therefore unreachable.
Do grading scales convert between countries?
Not reliably, and this tool does not pretend to. A German 1.7 or an Indian 8.2/10 does not map to a US 3.5 by arithmetic; official conversion is done by credential evaluators using institution-specific tables.
Are my courses saved between visits?
No. The list lives in the page while the tab is open and is discarded when you leave — nothing is uploaded and nothing is written to browser storage. Copy the result out if you want to keep it.
Can it tell me what I need across several remaining courses?
Not as one answer, because there is not one. The final-exam mode solves for a single unknown score against a target; with several courses still open, many different combinations reach the same weighted total. Work through them one unknown at a time.
Is GPA / Grade Calculator really free, with no limits?
Yes. There is no account, no daily cap, no file-size tier and no watermark, because there is no server cost to recover. The site is funded by clearly disclosed partner recommendations on the Partners page, never by metering the tools.
Are my files or text uploaded when I use GPA / Grade Calculator?
No. Everything is processed by JavaScript running in your browser, on your device. You can verify it: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the tool. You will see no request carrying your data — because there is nowhere for it to go.
