What keyword density should I target?
None. Keyword density stopped being a ranking factor a long time ago, and writing to hit a percentage produces text that reads badly and can look manipulative. Use this to notice accidental repetition and to see what your text is actually about.
What are the two and three-word phrases for?
They reveal the phrasing you actually used, which is more informative than single-word counts. It is a useful editing lens: seeing "in order to" fifteen times tells you something.
Does it ignore common words?
Optionally. The stop-word list covers English articles, prepositions and auxiliaries, and can be turned off or edited.
Can it check a live page instead of text I paste?
No. Fetching a URL would mean a server making the request on your behalf, which is the thing this site does not do. Copy the visible page text, or take the source and strip the tags with HTML to Text first.
Does it weight headings and links differently?
No — it counts the text you paste with no notion of where each word sat in the page. If you want headings judged separately, paste them on their own and run them as their own body of text.
Is Keyword Density Checker really free, with no limits?
Yes. There is no account, no daily cap, no file-size tier and no watermark, because there is no server cost to recover. The site is funded by clearly disclosed partner recommendations on the Partners page, never by metering the tools.
Are my files or text uploaded when I use Keyword Density Checker?
No. Everything is processed by JavaScript running in your browser, on your device. You can verify it: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the tool. You will see no request carrying your data — because there is nowhere for it to go.
