Label Generator

Print sheet labels from a list, as a PDF.

Label Generator lays out sheet labels and writes a print-ready PDF. Choose a common label sheet or set your own grid in millimetres, fill the labels from typed lines or a CSV column, repeat one label across the sheet, and start partway down so a part-used sheet is not wasted. Questions about Label Generator

Why print the alignment page first?
Because printers scale. A page printed at “fit to page” shifts every label by a millimetre or two, which is enough to spoil a whole sheet. The alignment page is one cheap sheet of plain paper you hold against your labels to check before committing the real ones.
Can I start halfway down a part-used sheet?
Yes, and it is the reason this tool exists in this form. Choose the starting label position and the first labels are left blank, so a sheet with six labels already peeled off is not thrown away.
Which print settings should I use?
Scale must be 100% or “actual size”, never “fit to page”, and margins should be set to none or default rather than minimum. Those two settings account for nearly every misaligned label sheet.
Does it match Avery templates exactly?
The presets follow the published dimensions for common sheet types, and you can enter exact measurements for anything else. Manufacturers do occasionally revise a layout, so if you have an unusual sheet, measure it and enter the numbers rather than trusting a name.
Is my address list uploaded?
No. The PDF is written in the tab by the site’s own PDF writer. A list of customer addresses is exactly the sort of file that should not be going to a free web service.
Is Label Generator really free, with no limits?
Yes. There is no account, no daily cap, no file-size tier and no watermark, because there is no server cost to recover. The site is funded by clearly disclosed partner recommendations on the Partners page, never by metering the tools.
Are my files or text uploaded when I use Label Generator?
No. Everything is processed by JavaScript running in your browser, on your device. You can verify it: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the tool. You will see no request carrying your data — because there is nowhere for it to go.
