Questions about Rotate PDF

Why did my rotation in Acrobat/Preview not stick?
Most viewers rotate only the on-screen view unless you explicitly save. This tool writes the /Rotate entry into each page object, so the change is part of the document.
Does rotating re-encode anything?
No. Rotation is a single integer per page. Text, fonts and images are untouched and the file size barely changes.
Can I rotate only the landscape pages?
Yes. The page grid marks each page as portrait or landscape and lets you select a whole orientation group in one click before applying a rotation.
What if a page is already rotated?
Rotations are cumulative and normalised to 0, 90, 180 or 270. A page already at 90° that you rotate a further 90° is saved as 180°.
My scan is upside down on alternate pages. Can I fix that?
Yes. A stack fed the wrong way round on the second pass comes out with every other page at 180°. Set the page filter to Odd pages or Even pages, whichever came out wrong, and apply 180° — the rest of the document is left alone.
Can I do this on a phone?
Yes. The page grid takes touch input and the rotate controls are ordinary buttons, so a sideways scan can be corrected in a mobile browser with nothing installed. Pick the file from Files or Drive, rotate, and the saved copy lands in your downloads.
Is Rotate PDF really free, with no limits?
Yes. There is no account, no daily cap, no file-size tier and no watermark, because there is no server cost to recover. The site is funded by clearly disclosed partner recommendations on the Partners page, never by metering the tools.
Are my files or text uploaded when I use Rotate PDF?
No. Everything is processed by JavaScript running in your browser, on your device. You can verify it: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the tool. You will see no request carrying your data — because there is nowhere for it to go.
